Lyn Barnes’ ‘Community Canvas’

The arid landscape of outback Queensland has been inspiration for artist Lyn Barnes since she began painting more than twenty years ago. Lyn’s ‘Community Canvas’ is a key feature of the Channel Country Ladies Day weekend each year, with each participant painting themselves onto a stunning artwork with the backdrop of the event’s location. The canvas is then auctioned off during Saturday night’s proceedings, with 50% of the money raised going directly to a charity close to all of our hearts, the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
